Sustainable mobility has become a priority for cities and communities around the world. A digital platform focused on promoting the use of bicycles as a means of transportation faced the challenge of expanding its reach and facilitating access to more users, offering a robust and functional experience. With a presence in more than 14 countries, the goal was to consolidate its mobile ecosystem and improve the interaction of cyclists globally.
To achieve this, we led the development of the Android version of the application using Flutter and native Android code, complemented by technologies such as Django, Python, and relational databases. Among the features implemented, the following stand out:
- GPS route tracking integrated into the application.
- Route rating system (green, yellow, red) to provide information on conditions and safety.
- Automated quality assurance (QA) testing to ensure a reliable and scalable experience.
The results were impressive:
- 701% increase in new users following the Android launch.
- Expansion of the global user base to 727,000 users, including 42,000 companies.
- Generation of more than 24 million bike rides worldwide, consolidating the platform as a key tool for promoting sustainable mobility.
